Community Spirit!

April 30, 2010

April was a really busy month at bluefusion! Strike the bluefusion mascot was out and about. He made appearances at the Marion County Children Services Pinwheels for Prevention Day, he was at the Children’s Festival at Tri-Rivers Career Center and he was busy meeting and greeting our guests at bluefusion.

We hosted some great bowling tournaments in the month of April as well. The 2nd Annual bluefusion Invitational took place early in the month. Winning this challenging tournament was Dave Patchen.  Just recently we held the 1st Annual Marion County High School Championships. Meagan Lyons placed first in the girls division and Brandon Keirns placed first in the boys division. Congratulations to all of our winners!

Our community spirit was shining during the month of April! We kicked off the Marion Shining Star competition on April 19th. This event continues to run during the month of May – with the winner being announced on May 17th. This is a fundraiser for Heart of Ohio Mentoring as well as a scholarship opportunity for the contestants. bluefusion is proud to host this event this year. Last week’s competitors brought in a great crowd and had the house a rockin’!

Heart of Ohio Mentoring also kept us busy with Bowl For Kids. This fundraiser took place over two weekends and brought in over 20 companies/organizations to bluefusion. More than 68 teams bowled – raising thousands of dollars for the agency.  A huge thank you to those of you who came out to support Heart of Ohio Mentoring.

The Marion County Chamber of Commerce Annual Auction took place last week – we were thrilled to participate in the auction by donating an Ultimate Birthday Party to auction off!

We announced several new promotions in April that will continue to run throughout the summer. One of them being our Vegas Night. This promotion runs on Thursday Nights from 9pm to Close. It includes unlimited bowling, unlimited golf and a $5.00 fuser card for just $9.99 per person. When you come in on Thursday night for this promotion you can register to win a 3 day/2 night vacation package to Las Vegas! The more times you come in the better your chances are to win! We will be announcing some new summer promotions soon… hint…hint…they include free bowling.

Don’t forget to come out and support your favorite Shining Star on Monday’s at 6pm. We offer great appetizer specials during the event! See ya at the fusion…..

Locked-in at the Big Blue!

January 7, 2010

Now, there are some places I would most definitely NOT want to spend the night … like Ohio State Reformatory up the road from Marion, Ohio in Mansfield. I know, I know—that historic prison of Air Force One and Shawshank Redemption fame has quite a reputation for its exciting Ghost Hunt events. But I need something a little more … well, friendly and FUN!

If you (and your group) are looking for something along those lines, then look no further. The Bluefusion Team has been working on our 2010 Marketing plan and one of the new offerings that we can’t wait to share is (drumroll please) …. our Bluefusion Lock-ins! These awesome new private party events (held overnight) are available to large groups—school prom groups, Church Youth Groups (camps or retreats), Scout groups, companies, schools and other organizations.

It works like this … your group arrives around 11 pm or 12 midnight on your pre-determined date and then you HAVE AN AWESOME TIME … ALL NIGHT LONG! Your group basically gets the run-of-the-house. (Chaperones oversee the activity.) They can bowl, play Earth Quest Cosmic Golf, go head-to-head at Skeeball, challenge each other with a major Guitar Hero rock-out, race on the Fast & Furious Super Bikes and many other games.

They’ll enjoy a Pizza Buffet and soda. They can take part in team-building activities. AND, we’ll work with your planning committee to provide other enhancement ideas like a Vegas night gaming theme or performers/entertainment. For younger kids, a slumber party (where they bring their sleeping bags) could be an option. Then, sometime between 5-7 a.m. when the sun starts to rise on a new day, everyone gets to go home (and sleep). Now, how fun is that?

And one thing is for absolutely sure … it will be a night they will NEVER forget.
